Gingerbread houses are a classic Christmas pastime – and for good reason! They’re so much fun to make! Whether you purchase a premade kit or create your own gingerbread house pieces from scratch, your kids will have a blast decorating their own holiday houses (and eating the candy while they work).

Make a Christmas Craft

Crafting is one of my family’s favorite ways to spend time together. It gives your kids a chance to flex their creative muscles and work on improving their fine motor skills at the same time. And on top of creating memories together, you’ll end up with some fun keepsakes when your kids are finished crafting. Looking for a cute craft idea? Bake Cookies for Santa

I love holiday baking! It’s a great way to celebrate the holiday season. And letting your kids help is a fun way to teach them a little bit about cooking and spend time together, too. While any cookie recipe is a great excuse to spend time together, cookies that require decorating (like gingerbread men or sugar cookies) are a great choice when baking with kids. Older kids are great at helping make the cookie dough and cut out the cookie shapes, while younger kids would have more fun decorating the cookies with icing, sprinkles and candy.

With so many holiday commitments, it can be hard to stick to a routine. But the simple act of sitting down to dinner together each evening is the perfect way to calm the holiday chaos and enjoy each other’s company.
